I thought this was funny six years ago when I wrote it…Let me first say that I am a very lucky person and a very luckyTransformer fan. To be in the fortunate position that I am in, I amvery thankful. It is my wish to share my experiences with you, myfellow fans. Many of you have heard the rumors surrounding the live actionTransformers movie that AintItCool.com leaked last year. Let me justtell you that this project is still in the works and is WELL intodevelopment. You can expect a release some time in late 2002. I’vebeen cleared to shine some light on this project for you, the fans.Warning, there are a few spoilers ahead. This movie will tie directly into the new line that I reported on afew weeks ago, Transforce Transformers. The movie rejoins the cast ofthe original series before the movie. The movie revolves aroundOptimus Prime and his new driver, Spunk Witwicky. Spunk is Spike’solder brother who we find out left the fold after a life changingaccident involving himself and his mother. Tentatively, the movie opens up with Optimus Prime arriving at atruck stop in Southern Nevada. Optimus Prime is travellilng thecountry after the Autobots had disbanded a few years prior to ourpresent time. Optimus Prime has gone through a few changes. As far ashe knows, the Decepticons were vanquished in 1992. The Great War isover and he can now live in peace. He’s found his true place in lifeand is finally happy. At the truck stop, Optimus Prime runs acrossSpunk, who is down and out and on the verge of suicide. Prime tries tocheer Spunk up, to no avail. After they talk for a few minutes, thepolice arrive at the diner. Spunk disappears. After paying for fuel,Prime rolls out on his trek to see the world. He doesn’t know that hehas a stow-away. When a fire erupts in his trailer, Prime stops toinvestigate. There he finds Spunk who started a small electrical firewhile trying to lift some of Prime’s equipment. Prime detains Spunkand heads for the nearest police station. On the trip, Prime gets toknow Spunk and he finds out that Spunk is Spike’s long lost brother.Prime decides to absolve Spunk of any charges and heads for home sothat Spunk can reunite with his brother and father. Elsewhere we find out that the other Autobots have spread themsevlesacross the world. Wheeljack becomes a financial wizard on Wall Street.Tracks becomes a movie star. Blaster becomes a musician. Grapplebecomes a world class engineer. And Spike, Spike becomes a dad. When Prime rejoins the Witwickies, he and Spunk find out thatSparkplug has died. Carly, Spike and Daniel remain. After a tearfulreunion, Spike and Spunk clear up their differences over their mother(who was killed in a car accident with Spunk.) All is well until the Autobots on-call, Mirage, Cliffjumper andSideswipe are contacted by NASA. A planetoid is spotted and is oncourse to collide with the Earth. The Autobots are asked to assist inits destruction. They comply and take a shuttle to the planetoid sothey might investigate. They find more than they expected and allcommunications between they and NASA are terminated. The remaining Autobots are torn from their Earthly lives and aregathered back together. At Autobot HQ, Teletran-1 is used to recreatethe last moments of contact with the three Autobots. Teletran-1 comesto one conclusion and one conclusion only. The Decepticons. TheAutobots laugh. They blame the problems on Cliffjumper’s flying. Primedoesn’t laugh. He knows it’s true. The Autobots recharge that night and rebuild their weapons. The nextmorning they find the three Autobots laid out on the Washingtoncountryside outside HQ. They are non-functional. The Autobots find the Decepticons, engage them and are almostobliterated. Unable to defeat the Decepticons on their own, theAutobots seek out help. Wheeljack has the theory that drivers couldpossibly help the Autobots in battling the Decepticons. Prime alreadyhas one, Spunk. Spunk recruits some of his “bad ass” friends to helpout. The Autobots fight the Decepticons again and the Decepticonsdisengage. They relocate to Cybertron and build their own drivers.This then leads into the new TV series. The movie is a combination of cel and CGI technologies. The currentbuzz going around is that the movie may be an iMAX film, but don’tquote me on that…yet. This ties in with the new movie, whichcombines little drivers with the original Transformers toys. It alsofills the much talked about gap between the TV series and the movie. Ican’t say much more about this project other than it will be big, Iknow you’ll enjoy it.
