For some reason the folks at Minute Maid believe that their cherry soda needs only be served in drink fountains. I would disagree. In fact, I can’t find one good cherry soda that is readily available, save Jones Cherry Soda. I have to drive forty-five minutes out of town to obtain Jones. Not good.So I was in a restaurant in a neighboring town last week. They offered something called a “Cherry Smash”. It consisted, basically, of cherry syrup and soda water. This piqued my interest. I had a whole drawer full of snow cone soda sitting in my fridge. I went by Wal-Mart, grabbed a couple of bottles of soda water and came home. After about three minutes of playing around with the ratios, I successfully made cherry soda. Today I tried watermelon soda.Tasty.Once Summer comes and goes, this snow cone crap will go back on clearance at Wal-Mart. This will be time to stock up on all sorts of exotic flavors.Cherry soda on demand. Yes. Life is good.
